The fade of Adelaide

“The Fade of Adelaide is a landscape painting based on a road trip I did from Sydney to Adelaide via the hay plains. The work serves as a narrative in which I have invited the viewer to apply their own imagination to my journey, through the use of abstract forms. For me, this painting reads from left to right, like the English language. There is no rest in this image. Texture is used to build up some areas, however the flatness of paint in other areas sits only briefly before being interrupted by something else. This discrepancy encourages the eye to wander, just as I have done physically and mentally on my journey.”
