Anna May Henry grew up on a dairy farm on the South Coast and is a Sydney based painter who graduated from The National Art School in 2016. Anna’s work is centred on still life painting from an observation-based studio practice.  She focuses mainly on Australian flora reflecting her interest in their unique aesthetics, that also bring a sense of identity to the works.

“I am inspired by the play of light and shadow, patterns and colour, I surround myself with this and paint what I enjoy.”

Her oil paintings play with mark making through a diversity of paint application that negotiate the fundamentals of painting.
